Russian government iworks out a list of requirements for foreign companies wishing to return to the Russian market after leaving it in 2022.
The key conditions which are discussed:
A special government subcommittee shall make a decision for each company individually. At the same time, it is envisaged to protect the interests of the Russian producers which have occupied the vacant market niches.
According to market analytics, by the end of 2024 more than 60% of companies from “unfriendly” countries left the Russian market, while around one third still continue their activities in the Russian Federation.
The key conditions which are discussed:
- achievement of a certain level of production localization during a certain period;
- technology transfer and organization of scientific research centers in Russia;
- possible creation of joint venture companies with the Russian partners;
- non-hostile policy towards Russia (financing the Ukranian Army, foreign agents etc.);
- no debts in salary, taxes or other mandatory payments.
