The Staff Committee of the Russian-German Chamber of Commerce has chosen a new head

On Tuesday, February 13, 2018, representatives of more than fifty VTP member companies elected a new head of the VTP Personnel Committee.

Elena Balashova, Managing Partner of Balashova Legal Consultants, was unanimously elected Chairman of the Committee.

Elena Balashova, one of the leading experts in the field of labor and migration law, has been actively involved in the work of the Russian-German Chamber of Commerce for more than twelve years – primarily as a long-term member of the Legal Committee of the VTP, head of the Working Group on Migration Issues, Deputy Chairman of the Personnel Committee and a regular speaker at events Chambers. In 2008-2009 . Elena was one of the developers of the draft law on highly qualified foreign specialists, which greatly facilitated the work of companies that attract foreign workers.

One of the tasks of the Committee in the near future will again be lobbying and legislative activities, the new head of the Committee told the audience. Currently, the Government of the Russian Federation is preparing to adopt a bill that will seriously complicate the business of keeping migration records of its foreign workers. Thus, companies will be deprived of the opportunity to register foreigners and their family members working for them at the location of the company.

In this regard, the initiative group of lawyers of the Committee will develop an appeal to the Government of the Russian Federation and the relevant Committee of the State Duma with criticism of the bill.

The next meeting of the Committee will be held on March 15, 2018. In addition, the Committee is preparing the traditional annual Staff Conference scheduled for April 17, 2018 at Swissotel Moscow Krasnye Kholmy.
