The project was developed as part of the implementation of Federal Law No. 257-FZ "On Amendments to Articles 8 and 23 of the Federal Law "On Migration Registration of Foreign Citizens and Stateless Persons in the Russian Federation" regarding the removal of a foreign citizen from migration registration at the place of stay in the Russian Federation.
It is now possible to remove a foreign citizen from the register at the place of stay in the Russian Federation upon his departure from the place of stay on the basis of a corresponding notification.
At the same time, sending a notification of the departure of a foreign citizen to the migration registration authority is the right of the receiving party, and not an obligation.
Notification of the departure of a foreign citizen can be submitted to the migration department of the territorial body of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation, through the MFC or by mail.
This procedure applies, inter alia, to foreign citizens registered at the place of stay before the entry into force of Federal Law No. 257-FZ.
